Leave a lasting legacy for Wiltshire's wildlife Have you ever considered leaving a charitable bequest in your will? May 14-21 is National Will Week, and Wiltshire Wildlife Trust would like to encourage wildlife-lovers to leave a lasting legacy for wildlife and wild places for the future. Wiltshire has a wonderful variety of wildlife, but threats are constant - building construction, road developments, intensive agriculture, climate change, all conspire against wildlife. Wiltshire Wildlife Trust is working hard to protect endangered species, such as the water vole and the great crested newt, and restore wild places such as wildflower meadows, downlands and river banks. To succeed in the long term, the Trust needs to plan for the future. A little thought about a legacy now could make a big difference later. Fundraising Officer Emma Day said: "By joining the small but growing number of people who leave legacies to the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, you can leave a lasting memorial to Wiltshire's wildlife and countryside. £1000 could provide all the matched funding we need to buy a piece of ancient woodland, saving it forever. £50,000 could purchase a threatened piece of Wiltshire's countryside. Whatever the sum, your legacy will help towards maintaining the special wild places of Wiltshire for future generations," said Emma.
